NHMMHA Mission Statement

"Advancing the American Dream of home ownership for all..."

The New Hampshire Manufactured and Modular Housing Association is a non-profit trade organization dedicated to advancing the American dream of home ownership using manufactured and modular homes that offer attractive, affordable, energy efficient and safe housing for New Hampshire residents. We do this by proactively leading and maintaining a vigorous presence in Concord, and in Washington, D.C., through our membership in the national Manufactured Housing Institute, to protect the right of homeownership and to advance legislation to that end, while opposing costly and arbitrary bills that would interfere with that right. We bring together all stakeholders including manufacturers, retailers/dealers/builders, service/suppliers, lenders, installers and community owners/operators, as one group, for the purpose of professionally and ethically advancing our mission.

As the sole industry leader in New Hampshire, we serve our constituents and the public on a multitude of issues, such as:

  • Resolving regulatory barriers regarding the transportation of homes from the factory to and through our state;
  • Providing education and consultation to our members on the responsibilities of owning and operating manufactured housing communities;
  • Administering the "CAPS" program for the resolution of rent increase disputes;
  • Supporting legislation that establishes the State Board of Manufactured Housing (SBMH) to provide a forum for rules disputes between owners/operators and residents to be adjudicated;
  • Initiating legislation requiring installers to be licensed by the Manufactured Housing Installation Standards Board (MHIB);
  • Serving as a liaison for our members on both the SBMH and the MHIB;
  • Providing education and course certification to professionals who install manufactured housing and other requirements of licensure; and
  • Advocating for policies that promote affordable housing.
